Marketing Strategist – Business Customer Channel (Seattle)
Use business intelligence to inform marketing strategy and program decision-making
* Lead customer segmentation initiative. Identify business customer energy use characteristics and specific energy conservation opportunities.
* Recommend data capture and reporting protocols.
* Analyze energy savings potential by customer segment. Restructure data from program-specific to customer-specific (or meter) capture.
* Unify free-standing data repositories and free-standing program files.
* Manage campaign design and production; track and measure results.
Build customer relationship
* Champion SCL CRD as a resource for business customer energy efficiency leadership; expand channels of communication and customer interaction.
* Leverage technology and other customer communication tools to provide timely, actionable energy information.
* Help create best-in-class web site content and tools; research and support content updates on a regular basis; build online community with local business and industry groups.
* Develop annual outreach plan to represent the division at conventions, exhibitions & events. Plan and lead marketing and business development meetings.
* Build Trade Ally network channel (eg. lighting contractors) to communicate and deliver programs.
* Develop and update marketing collateral to support customer segment categories and technologies. Update Commercial/Industrial internal program manuals for staff use.
* Coordinate public relations efforts including case studies, videos, and press releases, with SCL Communications department.
* Partner with other City Department conservation personnel, regional utilities, and other energy conservation stakeholders to build conservation marketing alliances.
* Assist with renewable program design and implementation for non-residential customers.
Required Qualifications
Two years of experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and a baccalaureate degree in business administration, marketing or a related field. Experience with development and implementation of marketing plans, processes and strategies; Coordination and implementation of customer research; Business analysis; Ability to establish systems for gathering and maintaining marketing information.

* Project management including responsibility for resources, time, money and scope.
Ability to vision and implement a variety of IT and creative design projects
* Customer data management expertise including CRM, customer segmentation and experience fielding targeted programs to customer segments.
* Ability to lead and collaborate with a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders.
* Internet-based marketing, customer affinity, web content development, online communities, internet marketing solutions, web tools, and SEO.
* Vendor management.
Passionate about engaging customers in energy conservation
* Ability to understand energy efficiency methods, principles and resource concepts.
* Market research: identification of knowledge needs, research protocol, analysis and incorporation of learning into business plans. Ability to track and identify relevant high-impact market trends.
* Strong analytical skills and customer database development experience preferred.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member. Self starter with high level of initiative. Excellent analytical, organization and planning skills. Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience using database applications. Values multiculturalism and diversity as a workforce and community asset.
Brand or product management experience a plus. MBA preferred.
