NOW HIRING for Seattle City Light’s POWERFUL NEIGHBORHOODS program
Position: Entry Level Installer for Working Green Consulting, LLC
The Powerful Neighborhoods program is a pilot program designed to reach customers who may not have taken advantage of our energy conservation programs in the past. These customers include senior citizens, non-English-speaking households and low-income customers.
We hope that by offering to make home visits and providing energy-saving products, we can educate customers about energy conservation and motivate them to take actions to save money and electricity.
Pay: an average of $16 per hour avg guaranteed No Sales No Fundraising
Job Description: Going door-to-door to install CFL’s, smoke detectors &wrapping hot water pipes as well as leave behind aerators and low-flow showerheads and more. Installers will also educate consumers about the benefits of conservation as well as collect data about customers’ energy usage. This is a FREE SERVICE to SCL customers
Work Schedule: Mondays through Fridays; Hours: Weekdays 3:00 pm thru 10:30 pm (Initial training day hours tbd)
Dates: Training Aug 16 (training is $12/hour) Work begins Aug 17 thru Dec Schedule is subject to change in the winter months.
Requirements for Eligibility:
o The ability to pass background and drug tests
o Excellent face to face communication skills
o The ability to take and apply constructive criticism
o The ability to work well with a team and independently in the community
o A goal-minded and solution-oriented attitude
o The ability to walk door to door for an average of four hours per evening
o Strong preference will be given to bilingual applicants
