   We still have an opportunity for Washington State to adopt TV energy
   efficiency standards this legislative session - but we need your help!

   HB 2416, the Energy Efficiency Standards bill, may reach the Senate floor
   today or tomorrow! Your help is needed to pass this bill that will save
   energy and money for consumers.

   Please call your state Senator TODAY and tell them to support Senator
   Oemig’s Amendment on House Bill 2416. Please call your Senator’s

   Early in the legislative session, the House passed HB 2416, adopting
   California's energy efficiency standards for new TVs. An independent report
   found that the standards for TV’s would save enough energy by 2030 to power
   more than 143,000 Washington homes.

   Washington state has nearly 6 million TVs today and is adding another 73,000
   every year. The new more efficient models offer equal or better picture and
   performance at no additional cost to consumers. That is why the Governor’s
   Office, utilities and environmental groups support the legislation.

   Now it's down to the wire in the Senate. In order for the bill to provide
   the most energy efficiency savings, it is critical that the Senate pass an
   amendment put forth by Senator Oemig.

   Too bad - it seems this failed: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=2416 says:
   "2416-S AMS OEMI S5476.2 364 Oemig Floor Pg 5 Ln 21 PULLED 03/10/2010"
   Olympia is moving so fast these days; it's hard to keep up.
