   Dear HPW,

   Newly elected Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn has been quoted saying that he
   welcomes citizen input as to how his Administration ought to run.

   Earlier this week, the Mayor suspended the work of the city’s Office
   of Sustainability and the Environment until he can decide how many
   positions to eliminate at the office (if any) and what its new
   marching orders should be.

   Over the past year, Moontown has worked very closely with OSE and it's
   staff and we know from a first hand bases that this group rocks!
   Understaffed and underfunded, Mike Mann and his team simply get things
   done. OSE has been responsible for:

   • Getting over 1,000 Mayors, representing over 86 million people
   from across the United States, to sign onto a major Climate Protection
   Agreement to reduce carbon emissions in our country.
   • Incubating dozens of innovative programs, initiatives, and
   partnerships to promote community engagement, corporate social
   responsibility, economic development, and direct citizen action to
   raise environmental, social and economic sustainability awareness in
   our region.
   • Bringing over $30M of dollars in ARRA Stimulus Funding dollars
   to the Puget Sound Region in support of Energy Efficiency Community
   Block Grants, creating and Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure,
   cultivating Energy Training Partnerships, and developing Pathways Out
   of Poverty.

   If you support the work of Mike Mann and the incredible body of work
   he and his staff have produced in recent years, let the Mayor know.

   Help spread the word to your network and ask your friends and
   colleagues to become Facebook fans OSE! We're trying to get 500
   people to sign up by the close of business Monday, at which point I
   will ask Mayor McGinn to become a fan himself.
