   Seattle Jobs Initiative, in partnership with South Seattle Community College, is offering an INTENSIVE 100-HOUR weatherization course designed to prepare students for a GREEN CAREER in residential energy-efficiency

   WEATHERIZATION SKILLS

   This course, designed to prepare you as an entry-level weatherization technician, will include the following weatherization skills:

    Hand / power tool safety and usage
    Attic preparation and blow
    Prescriptive air sealing
    Prescriptive duct sealing
    Dense pack walls
    Retrofit floors
    Ventilation
    Basic building science

   ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

   Students also receive these additional skills and certifications:

    OSHA 10 (Certification)
    Industrial First Aid and CPR (Certification)
    Introduction to Hazardous Communication
    Small Spaces Training
    Ladder and Scaffold Safety
    Fall Protection
    Lead Safe Renovator (Certification)
    Introduction to Asbestos, Mold, and Pests

   Minimum Eligibility Requirements

   All applicants:

   • are able to fit through a 20” by 14” opening
   • are able to lift / carry at least 25 pounds
   • complete / pass a drug test
   • have a valid driver’s license with no more than 1 moving violation in the past 5 years.
   • possess Basic English and math skills (minimum 5th grade level)
   • have no felony convictions related to violence, arson, sexual offenses, or theft
   • meet a strict attendance policy
   • complete a 20-hour job readiness training
